PEPPERMINT ESSENTIAL OIL
So we've all probably heard of or tried out peppermint in one form or another. Whether in a choc-minty bar, fresh peppermint from the garden, or in toothpaste....you name it! So what is different about the essential oil of peppermint? And does it really have any other tangible benefits besides making your mouth smell minty and fresh?
There is a BIG difference in what fragrance and therapeutic peppermint oil can do for your body. First, it's important to understand that essential oils are highly potent and used in their pure form - undiluted (or at least should be for therapeutic purposes). This means that they contain chemical constituents that affect both body and mind. Whereas the commercial peppermint in toothpaste contains very few therapeutic components compared to the neat essential oil.
So what is peppermint used for? And how can it promote winter wellness?
Number 1. Peppermint can be EXCELLENT for the respiratory tract; It can assist with sinus congestion and post nasal drip issues. (By the way, sinus issues can be related to gut imbalances which can be aggravated by grief, worry, and diet. So, you might like to observe your gut health too) 2 drops of peppermint inhaled may help to clear up that nose and allow you to breathe once more.
Number 2. Peppermint may assist with coughs and colds by boosting and supporting the immune system. It can help minimize discomforts such as headaches and muscle and joint pains. A healthy immune system will help fight the bugs that bug body function.
Number 3. Peppermint contains chemicals that stimulate the brain to be alert. It's a refreshing oil (beneficial for winter blues mood) that can help us to be more aware and focused; this is particularly good for students who are studying. Burning 2-3 drops of peppermint in the room while you study can assist in keeping your mind fresh, positive, and buckled down!
Number 4. Winter is no excuse for dull skin. Peppermint can help balance skin pH and itchy, dry, and inflamed skin. Caution - Never use peppermint neat on the skin! Always dilute it in a carrier oil; when it comes to peppermint, less is more, and a little goes a long way. So just 1 drop diluted in 5-10ml carrier oil should be sufficient when applying to a small area.
Where can you get peppermint?
Visit your nearest health shop and inquire there.
OR
For a more direct experience, inbox or Whatsapp me on details from my site, and order 100% pure organic 10ml/ 20ml bottled essential oils there. Also available are cold-pressed carrier oils to dilute your peppermint.
OR
Alternatively, suppose you do not want to go through the process of diluting yourself. In that case, there is an option of a pre-blended bottle of oil. The blend contains Peppermint, Rosewood, and Myrtle, which are aimed to assist respiratory imbalance and mental fatigue, which can also help correct imbalances related to the metal element. The advantage of this blend is you get a good combination of not just the peppermint but of the other oils added to it, which also bring out their therapeutic properties. And it can it applied neat on the skin as it is already diluted in grapeseed oil (and grapeseed is fantastic for the skin and wrinkles in particular). So lots of benefits here!
So there you are, the very short of a very long list of the wonderfully refreshing therapeutic benefits of peppermint essential oil. Beat winter woes, and bring back winter wellness!
Happy Essential oiling!
